  • SAG Awards 2025: best and worst moments, including Harrison Ford’s gaffe and more

The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards streamed on Netflix on Sunday, Feb. 23 (live at 8 p.m. ET).

The streaming service broadcasted the SAG Awards for the second year in a row.

Hosted by Kristen Bell, the ceremony honored many of the same nominees that the Golden Globes also honored with some snubs and surprises.

Kristen Bell hosting the 2025 SAG awards on Feb. 23, 2025.

In film, “Wicked” led the pack with five nominations, followed by “A Complete Unknown” with four and “Emilia Perez” and “Anora” each getting three. Timothée Chalamet won big for “A Complete Unknown,” while “Conclave” won for best ensemble and Demi Moore won for “The Substance.”

Denzel Washington was snubbed for “Gladiator II,” for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination. Nicole Kidman also got snubbed for “Babygirl” and Angelina Jolie got snubbed for “Maria.”

But, Pamela Anderson, who the Oscars snubbed for “The Last Showgirl,” did earn a SAG nomination.

In television, “Shõgun” led the pack with five nominations, followed by “The Bear” with four and “The Penguin” with three nominations. Colin Farrell scored a win for the latter.

Here are all the best and worst moments from the ceremony.

Harrison Ford freezes when he realizes he’s caught on camera eating at the 2025 SAG awards on Feb. 23, 2025.

Best – Harrison Ford photobombs the intro

The ceremony opened by cutting to various actors like Mikey Madison and Jodie Foster talking to the camera about their first acting gigs. All the actors spoke while sitting at their tables in the audience, so viewers at home could clearly see fellow celebs sitting near them. When it was Jessica Williams’ turn, Harrison Ford, who was sitting next to her, took a bite of his food – then realized he was on camera, froze, and slowly turned away. It was unclear if it was by accident or if it was a bit. Either way, it was amusing. Realizing that Ford was photobombing her moment, Williams joked, “I told him to turn away!”

Zoe Saldana reacts to Kristen Bell showing a clip from “Crossroads” during her opening monologue at the 2025 SAG Awards.

Best  – Kristen Bell pays homage to actors’ early roles

In her opening monologue, host Kristen Bell sang a song about how everyone in the room had a dream of becoming an actor. Behind her, a screen played clips of various actors’ first roles – Timothée Chalamet, Colin Farrell, Andrew Scott, Zoe Saldaña. Meanwhile, a camera showed each actor in the audience reacting to seeing their early roles, often with a grimace.

Zoey Deschanel (left) and Max Greenfield presents the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series during the 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025.

    Best – All the reunions

During one of Kristen Bell’s segments, Ted Danson interrupted her to argue about whether he or William Jackson Harper was her favorite co-star while filming “The Good Place.” Later in the show, Jason Segel came out to talk to Bell while wearing his suit on his top half with his bottom half wrapped in a towel, pretending to be nude in a nod to his naked scene in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” Later in the ceremony, David Duchovny and his “X-Files” co-star Gillian Anderson also had a reunion onstage, and former “New Girl” co-stars Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield presented the award together for best ensemble in a comedy series and Bell had a moment with former “Gossip Girl” co-star Leighton Meester. It was a night full of reunions.

Kieran Culkin accepts the outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role award for “A Real Pain” onstage during the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Feb. 23, 2025.

    Best  – Kieran Culkin’s speech

Culkin won the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role” for “A Real Pain.” During his goofy rambling, he pointed out that 45 seconds is the allotted time for each speech and pointedly said, “Adrien Brody,” since Brody was the frontrunner to win the award for lead actor in a movie.

He followed up the comment by addressing Brody, saying, “There was no reason to take that shot, I love you.” He added, “Moving on, I see the clock ticking,” and as he kept speaking, he gave himself a count down, feverishly muttering, “13,12,11 … I haven’t said anything,” as the crowd laughed.

Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez speak onstage during the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Feb. 23, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

Worst – “Emilia Perez” awkwardly dancing around Karla Sofía Gascón’s absence

Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez came out onstage to talk about their film, “Emilia Perez.”
“Every once in a while, we get a movie that dares to be as unpredictable as life itself,” said Selena Gomez before showing clips from the film.

Looking at the footage, you would think they were the only two stars of the film. You know what else has been “unpredictable,” Selena Gomez? Her co-star Karla Sofía Gascón’s awards campaign derailing after her controversial social media posts resurfaced. Following that incident, the movie reportedly ditched the actress from the campaign. All this segment did was highlight her conspicuous absence.

Jane Fonda accepts the Life Achievement Award during the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards, in Los Angeles, Feb. 23, 2025.

Worst – Jane Fonda’s speech gets interrupted by a tech glitch

Jane Fonda, 87, was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the ceremony. The Hollywood icon gave a fiery speech. “Your enthusiasm makes it seem less like a twilight of my life and more like a ‘go girl, kickass,’ which is good, because I’m not done,” she said.

She called her career “totally unstrategic” and joked, “Probably in my 90s, I’ll be doing my own stunts in an action movie.” The “9 to 5” star added that since she grew up in the ‘40s and ‘50s, when women weren’t supposed to “have opinions” or “get angry,” acting gave her that chance.

This was all well and good, but in the middle of her speech, the sound system malfunctioned, and a disembodied voice over the loudspeaker briefly cut in. Fonda rolled with it, joking, “And I can conjure up voices!” But she shouldn’t have had to adjust to that. Somebody messed up, big time.

  • Meghan Markle Bullying Aide Breaks Silence in Major Interview

The Kensington Palace aide who first put bullying allegations against Meghan Markle on record was asked about the scandal during a TV interview.

Jason Knauf was press secretary to Meghan, Prince Harry, Prince William and Princess Kate in 2018 as relations within the royal family were disintegrating.

In October of that year, he sent an email to Prince William’s private secretary stating: “I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year.”

File image: Princess Kate laughs as she offers a tub of dead larvae, used as livestock feed, to Jason Knauf at a Sustainable Markets Initiative reception on the sidelines of the COP26 summit, in Glasgow, on November 1, 2021.

Now he has given a sit-down interview to 60 Minutes Australia—an exceptionally rare move for a royal staffer, who still works for William on his Earthshot Prize.

Knauf was asked on camera about the backlash against him after his email got leaked to the media: “It’s tough but it’s probably quite good. Someone who is helping other people how to deal with the public eye… you probably have to take your own medicine sometimes.

“You can’t choose just to take the fun stuff in any job and that applies to the prince and princess [of Wales] as well as everyone working for them. I wouldn’t change anything.”

    Why It Matters

Knauf not only accused Meghan of bullying but also supplied her private text messages and emails to the Court of Appeal in London as part of a lawsuit she filed against The Mail on Sunday over a private letter she sent her father.

The trove of documents showed she had instructed him to brief the authors of a bombshell biography, Finding Freedom, which she had, through her lawyers, denied cooperating with.

Meghan apologized to the court and said she had forgotten she had instructed Knauf, while the aide became entrenched as a Sussex enemy in the minds of Harry and Meghan’s fans.

The fact he commented at all on the scandal is exceptionally rare for someone who continues to work for William via the Earthshot Prize, though he quit the palace around the same time as his bullying allegations were made.

    What To Know

While Knauf did answer a number of questions on an explosive subject, he also clearly chose his words carefully and made sure to include some positive comments about the Sussexes: “I’d worked really closely with the two of them and we had lots of great times.

“Working on their wedding was an amazing, magical experience and I wish them absolutely all the best with their lovely family.”

He was also asked about the collapse of Harry’s relationship with Prince William: “We have ups and downs in family. Even when you really love someone, you can have times when you don’t want to spend that much time with them.

“It’s very difficult to have this stuff play out in the public eye. But he’s [William’s] chosen to keep his thoughts on it private and I think all of us who know him really have to respect that we should do the same. But I will say of course it’s been hard and sad especially for all of us who know both of them.”

    What People Are Saying

60 Minutes Australia also asked whether Prince William eventually becoming king might rekindle the brothers’ relationship: “I can’t speculate on the future. They achieved a lot together and none of that can ever be taken away.

“This may be an extraordinary family that everyone gets to talk about and write about and be interviewed and all of that stuff but at the end of the day, it’s a family.”

Prince Harry described Meghan’s reaction to the leak of the bullying allegations in his 2021 mental health documentary The Me You Can’t See: “Before the Oprah interview had aired, because of [the media’s] headlines, and that combined effort of the firm and the media to smear her, I was woken up in the middle of the night to her crying in her pillow because she doesn’t want to wake me up because I’m already carrying too much.

“That’s heartbreaking. I held her, we talked, she cried, and she cried, and she cried.”

In his book, Harry acknowledged a “poisoned” atmosphere in the shared private office at Kensington Palace in 2018.

“Nerves were shattering, people were sniping. In such a climate there was no such thing as constructive criticism. All feedback was seen as an affront, an insult. More than once a staff member slumped across their desk and wept.

“For all this, every bit of it, Willy blamed one person. Meg. He told me so several times, and he got cross when I told him he was out of line.

“He was just repeating the press narrative, spouting fake stories he’d read or been told. The great irony, I told him, was that the real villains were the people he’d imported into the office, people from government, who didn’t seem impervious to this kind of strife—but addicted to it.

“They had a knack for backstabbing, a talent for intrigue, and they were constantly setting our two groups of staff against each other.”

  • Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Slide ‘Significant’—Republican Strategist

A Republican strategist has said President Donald Trump’s approval rating slide one month into office is a “significant measurement.”

Trump’s approval ratings have fallen by 13 points just 33 days into his second term in office, according to a new poll conducted by IPSOS.

Other polls from Quinnipiac and Gallup show the President’s approval ratings have slipped by 7 and 5 points, respectively. And a new CNN poll conducted with SSRS Research shows that 52 percent of Americans polled disapprove of the president, while 47 percent approve.

Republican pollster Frank Luntz spoke with Jessica Dean on CNN about the numbers, saying that while the president’s approval has fallen, the “agreement with the general direction of where he is trying to go is positive.”

    Why It Matters

Trump’s approval rating slide coincides with several town halls in Republican regions across America seeing citizens criticize the president and Elon Musk’s role in the federal government.

While Democrats can say Trump’s positive approval rating now sits below 50 percent, Republicans may point to how Trump is still more popular now than he was at any point during his first presidential term.

    What To Know

Luntz spoke with Dean about how these new polls give both sides “something to cheer about,” as Democrats can point to how overall support for Trump is falling, but Republicans can point out that people still largely support his central agenda on immigration, cutting bureaucracy and wasteful spending.

The economy and tariffs were pivotal to Trump’s campaign agenda, however the new CNN poll shows that only 34 percent think tariffs are a good thing, and 62 percent of people do not think the president has done enough to lower prices, something he said he would do on “Day 1.”

Luntz told Dean that Trump is planning on giving a speech on March 4 which he said will “reset expectations for the country,” saying that lowering prices will take time.

He said affordability around prices was the reason why Trump won the election, but that if people believe he is not doing enough to combat high prices they may become “disenchanted” with the president.

Egg prices are currently soaring across the US, and many retail outlets have put limits on the number of eggs customers can purchase, due to bird flu affecting chicken populations.

Luntz also pointed to the president’s moves to remove energy regulation and free up production, which Luntz says will result in lower energy prices.

Dean also spoke with Luntz about Musk’s role in the administration. His approval rates are lower than Trump’s, with only 28 percent of Americans saying his role in the administration is a good thing. Luntz said that in his polling, people have been telling him that they do not like Musk’s tone and demeanor.

He said that while people do back the president and his administration in their objectives to reduce waste, he said people are finding the language and the messaging to be “over the top,” and that they are not looking for chaos.

    What People Are Saying

Frank Luntz on CNN: “The overall objectives and the goals and the general policies behind what’s been happening is approved of. The way it has been communicated to the American people, no, they don’t want a chainsaw drop rocked to the government. They don’t want this seeming meanness as part of public policy. They do want the objective.s They do want less waste, less fraud, and more importantly, less corruption.”

    What Happens Next

The midterm elections are on November 3, 2026. Whether the president’s approval ratings will affect those elections remains to be seen.

  • AG Bondi: Epstein Client List Nearly Ready for Release

In a development that is poised to send shockwaves through elite circles and reignite debates about transparency and accountability, Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed on Fox News’ America Reports that she is in possession of the much-anticipated Jeffrey Epstein client list.

According to Bondi, the list—allegedly containing names linked to Epstein’s notorious network—is currently under review on her desk, with plans to release the information soon.

    A Presidential Directive for Transparency
Bondi stated that her directive to obtain and examine the Epstein files was issued directly by President Donald Trump. “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review,” she said, emphasizing that this effort is part of a broader strategy to “make America safe and prosperous.”

The initiative, according to Bondi, is designed not only to expose potential wrongdoing among influential figures but also to hold those who may have benefited from Epstein’s illicit activities accountable.

    The Legacy of Jeffrey Epstein
Jeffrey Epstein’s name has long been synonymous with scandal and criminality. Convicted of crimes related to the trafficking of minors and other sexual misconduct, Epstein’s operations implicated numerous high-profile individuals across various industries.

Although Epstein died in prison in 2019—officially ruled a suicide—the mystery surrounding his client list has persisted. Many believe that the list could reveal startling connections between Epstein and prominent figures in politics, business, and entertainment.

    What the Release Could Mean
If Bondi’s announcement leads to the public release of the Epstein client list, the implications could be far-reaching.

Critics argue that exposing the names of those linked to Epstein could trigger a cascade of political and legal repercussions, including congressional investigations and demands for accountability among the nation’s elite.

Supporters, on the other hand, see the potential release as a necessary step toward restoring public trust and ensuring that powerful individuals are not above the law.

Bondi also noted that her team is reviewing other historically significant documents, including those related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

While these additional reviews have sparked debate about the potential politicization of historical records, Bondi maintained that all releases will adhere strictly to legal and ethical standards.

  • Take a look inside Dolly Parton’s childhood home, a two-room log cabin where she lived with her 11 siblings

“These mountains and my childhood home have a special place in my heart,” reads a sign outside the cabin. “They inspire my music and my life. I hope being here does the same for you! Dolly.”

Parton grew up in the two-room log cabin with her parents and 11 siblings.

The log cabin had no electricity or running water, but Parton remembered her years there fondly in her 1973 song “My Tennessee Mountain Home.”

“In my Tennessee mountain home / Life is as peaceful as a baby’s sigh / In my Tennessee mountain home / The crickets sing in the fields nearby,” she sings.

Parton’s brother Bobby built the Dollywood replica, and her mother, Avie Lee, designed and furnished the interior.

A time capsule at the Dollywood DreamMore Resort contains a piece of wood from the front porch of the original home, which functioned as Parton’s first stage.

The dining area featured a small table and a wood-burning stove.

The walls of the log cabin were covered with newspaper for insulation.

    Religious art adorned the walls.

Parton has often spoken about how her Christian faith has shaped her life and music, telling People magazine in 2019, “I’ve always felt like my music was more my ministry than a job.”

Dollywood pays tribute to her Christian upbringing with attractions like gospel-music performances and a chapel that holds worship services every Sunday.

In the kitchen and pantry, many of the items came from the original Parton family home.

The kitchen featured dishes, cast-iron pans, and a butter churner.

The log cabin only had one bedroom.

Photos of Parton’s parents, Avie Lee Owens and Robert Lee Parton, hung above the bed.

Parton has come a long way since her humble beginnings, but she has stayed true to her Tennessee mountain home roots.

  • Trump Unleashes Scathing Attack on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins

In a fiery press conference at the Oval Office on Thursday, President Donald Trump delivered a blistering critique aimed squarely at CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, accusing her of bias and questioning her credibility.

The confrontation, which quickly dominated headlines, saw Trump lash out at Collins and her network with unfiltered, harsh language.

The incident unfolded during a press briefing where Trump was fielding questions on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

While addressing a question from another reporter about whether he believed President Putin genuinely desired peace, Kaitlan Collins interrupted with her own query: “Do you trust President Putin?” This interjection set off a rapid-fire exchange that would soon escalate into a full-blown media showdown.

Trump’s response to the question about Putin was measured at first. “I believe that—yeah, I believe that he would like to see something happen. I think he would like to see something happen. I think it could have happened a long time ago,” he remarked, seemingly deflecting the inquiry.

However, the tone shifted dramatically when he turned his attention to Collins. With pointed emphasis, Trump accused her of having close ties with his political rival, former President Joe Biden. “I know he [Biden] is a friend of yours,” Trump said, his voice rising as he continued his tirade.

Trump didn’t stop there. In a scathing dismissal of CNN, he declared, “That’s why nobody watches CNN anymore. Because they have no credibility.” His comments implied that the network, and by extension its reporters like Collins, are nothing more than partisan mouthpieces for Biden.

The president’s attack resonated with his supporters, who have long criticized mainstream media outlets for perceived bias and misinformation.

The verbal exchange did not end with that one remark. Earlier in the briefing, Collins had attempted to challenge Trump on a separate matter when she tried to interject a question about the impact of tariffs on inflation.

As Trump held up a signed reciprocal tariff plan, Collins began, “Mr. President, you won the White House in part because of high inflation.

If your tariffs make prices go up—” Before she could finish, Trump cut her off sharply, saying, “Excuse me. We haven’t asked you to speak yet.” This interruption set the stage for the later confrontation that became the focal point of the briefing.

Observers noted that Trump’s combative style in this instance was reminiscent of previous encounters where he clashed with the media, but the attack on Collins marked a particularly brutal moment.

The president’s choice of words was designed not only to discredit the reporter personally but also to undermine the overall credibility of CNN as an institution.

Critics argue that such remarks are emblematic of a broader trend in which Trump seeks to delegitimize media outlets that do not align with his narrative.

Supporters of Trump cheered his comments, praising his willingness to “tell it like it is” and stand up against what they view as the left-leaning bias of major news networks. “Finally, someone is calling out CNN for their partisanship,” one social media user commented. “Trump’s not afraid to speak his mind,” another added. These reactions illustrate the deep divisions that exist between Trump’s base and his detractors, with each side interpreting the president’s words through vastly different lenses.

However, the fallout from Trump’s remarks has been significant. Critics on the other side of the political spectrum argue that his aggressive approach not only disrespects seasoned journalists like Collins but also undermines the fundamental role of the press in holding the government accountable. “It’s unacceptable for a president to attack the free press in such a personal and derogatory manner,” one media watchdog noted. “These kinds of statements erode trust in our democratic institutions.”

The clash between Trump and Collins is likely to fuel ongoing debates about media bias, the limits of presidential rhetoric, and the responsibilities of reporters in a polarized political environment. With social media platforms abuzz and news outlets dissecting every word, the incident has already become a talking point for political pundits and analysts across the spectrum.

As the Oval Office briefing ended, Trump’s unyielding stance left little doubt about his intent to continue challenging the media narratives he finds unfavorable.

Whether this latest outburst will have lasting implications for his relationship with the press or influence public opinion remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that the battle between Trump and his critics is far from over.

In a political climate marked by fierce debates and razor-thin margins of public approval, incidents like these underscore the enduring conflict between the executive branch and the media. For those who support Trump’s outspoken style, his remarks are seen as a necessary corrective to what they perceive as widespread media bias.

For his opponents, they represent a troubling disregard for the principles of free speech and journalistic integrity.

  • Trump Shifts Border Enforcement Tactics: Democrats Stunned by His Radical Move

In a dramatic personnel shake-up that underscores his administration’s unwavering commitment to strict border control, President Donald Trump has reassigned Caleb Vitello, formerly the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to a role focused exclusively on field operations.

This decision, confirmed by officials on Friday, signals a strategic pivot designed to intensify efforts in arresting and deporting undocumented immigrants—a move that has already drawn considerable attention from both supporters and critics.

For nearly two years, Vitello served as ICE’s acting director following his appointment at the beginning of Trump’s second term in January.

His new assignment now places him at the helm of field and enforcement operations, where his primary responsibilities will involve coordinating and overseeing large-scale deportations and arrests. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been clear in its message: this redeployment is a calculated step to push forward an aggressive immigration agenda.

DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin provided details about the change in an official statement. “Caleb Vitello is no longer in an administrative role,” she announced. “He will now be overseeing all field and enforcement operations, which include finding, arresting, and deporting illegal aliens. This is a major priority of the President and Secretary Noem.” This reorganization reflects a broader trend in the administration, as it seeks to return to a hardline stance on border security reminiscent of policies from Trump’s earlier term.

The personnel change is just the latest in a series of moves aimed at reshaping ICE’s structure and operations. Earlier this month, two senior officials within ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division were reassigned, an action that further reinforced the administration’s focus on a no-nonsense, enforcement-first approach. Since returning to office, Trump has repeatedly emphasized the importance of robust border security, reinstating many of his previous policies while also introducing new initiatives intended to increase detention capacity and speed up the deportation process.

Inside the administration, officials indicate that this reshuffling may not be an isolated incident. With border enforcement being a top priority, more personnel adjustments could be on the horizon as the Trump team works to realign the agency’s priorities. Tom Homan, a key White House aide tasked with coordinating immigration policies across federal agencies, highlighted the dramatic rise in immigration enforcement. “We’ve seen a sharp increase in arrests, tripling the numbers compared to last year under President Biden,” Homan reported last week. Despite these gains, Homan made it clear that the current pace is insufficient. “I’m not satisfied,” he declared. “We got to get more.”

  • The leaders of France and Britain head to Washington to urge Trump not to abandon Ukraine

The leaders of France and Britain are making tag-team visits to Washington this week as Europe attempts to persuade President Donald Trump not to abandon Ukraine in pursuit of a peace deal in the three-year-old war with Russia.

There is an element of good cop, bad cop in efforts by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to salvage American support for Kyiv.

Starmer, reluctant to openly confront Trump, speaks of being a bridge between Europe and the U.S. administration. Macron has more strongly criticized Trump’s recent statements that echo Russia’s narrative and American moves to negotiate with Moscow while sidelining Ukraine.

Both leaders stress Ukraine’s voice and sovereignty must be at the center of any peace talks.

The French president warned Trump against appearing “weak in the face of President Putin.”

“It’s not you, it’s not your trademark, it’s not in your interest,” said Macron, who is due at the White House on Monday, the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Starmer is set to follow on Thursday.

  • Meghan Markle shares rare glimpse of Princess Lilibet in American Riviera Orchard rebrand

Meghan recently announced the name change of her lifestyle brand to As Ever

Meghan Markle has included her daughter in the relaunch of her lifestyle brand, now called As Ever.

The Duchess of Sussex announced in an Instagram post on Tuesday that her company American Riviera Orchard would be changing its name after running into difficulties with trademarking.

The lifestyle brand’s website includes a photo of Meghan holding her three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet.

The two of them are seen in matching all-white outfits as they run across a lawn with trees and the Pacific Ocean in the background.

Since Lilibet’s birth in 2021, Meghan and her husband Prince Harry have largely shielded her from the public eye. Although the Suits star did share a video of Lilibet and her five-year-old son Prince Archie making a Valentine’s Day treat on Friday.

The clip, which was shared on Instagram, began with a close-up shot of the Duchess of Sussex cutting strawberries into a heart shape. Accompanied by the Nat King Cole track “L-O-V-E,” Lilibet can be seen in the shot helping her mother before the treat is brought over to Archie.

Meghan announced the change to her lifestyle brand two weeks before the premiere of her Netflix show

Throughout the clip, Meghan avoided showing her children’s faces.

She decided to announce the new name of her lifestyle brand just two weeks before the premiere of Netflix show With Love, Meghan which will be released on March 4.

In her video announcement on Instagram, filmed in the family’s garden, Harry could be heard saying “It’s recording” in the background as Meghan said, “The cat’s out of the bag.”

“I’m shocked we’ve kept this a secret for so long. In two weeks my show is coming out, which I’m so excited for. And also my business, which I think there has been a lot of curiosity about,” she told her viewers.

“Last year, I had thought, ‘American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighborhood; it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area.”

Previously the Duchess experienced issues regulating American Riviera Orchard, as she sought to trademark the brand in the summer of 2024, which was rejected in August.

She was told she cannot have exclusive rights to the name ‘American Riviera’ because it’s a commonly used place name to describe where she and Harry live in Santa Barbara. The addition of the word ‘Orchard’ reportedly made little difference to this dispute.

The U.S. patent and trademark office also warned that the descriptions of the Duchess’s products fitted into multiple trademark categories, as “cocktail napkins” could be paper or textiles, and “cooking utensils” could be manual or electric.

In the video, she continued that when she partnered with Netflix for her new show, they also became her business partners and she took the opportunity to rebrand.

“I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever,” she said.

Meghan and Harry stepped back from official royal duties and left the UK in 2020. Since then, they have undertaken a number of different ventures, from their Archewell non-profit organisation to Archetypes podcasts, the latter of which Meghan left a year after signing a multi-year deal with Spotify.

The new brand marks a return to her lifestyle blogging roots, as the Duchess previously ran a blog called The Tig.
