Brad Pitt’s uncovered tattoos reveal secret love story with Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt, evergreen artist of Hollywood who is known for his legendary roles, gave fans a rare glimpse of his tattoo collection while attending an F1 event, and this sight has fans buzzing.

The 61-year-old actor went shirtless during the event, revealing a few meaningful tattoos across his body. His chest and arms were covered in ink as he lounged on a yellow sofa, dressed casually in off-white slacks.

Brad began having those tattoos during his romance with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, who wears her ink like a storybook with designs like “Know Your Rights” and a cross.

However, some of his Cambodian-inspired tattoos even seem to match hers, showing that their shared past is still written on his skin.

The Wolfs star still carrying pieces of memories with the Maria actress with him, including her birthday inked on his lower torso and the letter “A” for her name.

In the past, the Oscar-winning star Brad Pitt has offered a few glimpses of his inked body, occasionally revealing one on his arm or leg. But this new photo gives a much clearer look, proving just how much he embraces body art.

  • Valerie Bertinelli Passionately Defends Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Romance: ‘Let Us Enjoy’ This

Valerie Bertinelli Passionately Defends Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Romance: ‘Let Us Enjoy’ This

Valerie Bertinelli, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce

Valerie Bertinelli has had it up to here with haters who don’t support Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance — and she’s not afraid to say it.

“Can all of you negative Nellies just stop? Just stop,” Bertinelli, 63, began in a TikTok video shared on Saturday, September 30. “Let the rest of us enjoy watching two successful, funny, talented, incredibly gorgeous human beings — let us enjoy watching them fall in love.”

Bertinelli went on to slam various arguments against Swift and Kelce, both 33. “Oh, but she was too loud at the game?” Bertinelli said in a mocking voice. “It’s a game. It’s a football game. They’re exciting. They’re very thrilling.”

For those critics who believe the relationship is “a PR move,” Bertinelli had this to say: “Shut up. Shut up!”

In conclusion, she added, “Let the rest of us respectfully enjoy this love story that’s playing out in front of us, OK? Thank you. Have a good day.”

Bertinelli’s video debuted one day before Swift attended her second Kansas City Chiefs game in support of Kelce. The pop star watched Kelce’s team take on the New York Jets at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 1, in a box with a slew of famous people including Blake LivelyRyan ReynoldsHugh JackmanSophie Turner and Sabrina Carpenter. At one point, Swift shared a hug with Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce.

Speculation about Travis and Swift’s romance began in early September but reached a fever pitch when Swift attended the Chiefs’ September 24 game against the Chicago Bears. She was photographed in the stands with Donna, loudly cheering for Travis when he scored a touchdown.

After the game, Travis and Swift left Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium together and went for a ride in a convertible.

“Shout-out to Taylor for pulling up,” Travis said during the Wednesday, September 27, episode of his “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce. “That was pretty ballsy.”

He added that “everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her” after the game. “The friends and family. She looked amazing … and on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans. We script it all, ladies and gentlemen,” he teased. “It was absolutely electric.”

While Bertinelli and other observers are very invested in Travis and Swift’s romance, an insider exclusively told Us Weekly last month that the pair are taking things slowly.

“They have been on a few dates and Taylor is smitten with him,” the source explained. “[Taylor is] working hard right now and not looking for anything serious, but anything is possible. They’re getting closer and closer every day.”

  • Prince Harry Has a Terrible Wife: Trump

    Key points

    • I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife: Trump
    • Harry’s immigration status is subject of a lawsuit in Washington DC
    • Harry could be on a rare diplomatic visa known as an A-1 Head of State visa

United States (US) President Donald Trump says he has no plans to deport Prince Harry from the US amid a legal battle over his immigration status – taking a swipe at his wife Meghan Markle in the process.

“I don’t want to do that,” Trump said on Friday, according to Daily Mail.

“I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible,” he told the New York Post.

Harry’s immigration status is the subject of a lawsuit in Washington DC.

    Illegal drug use

Conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation has alleged that he may have concealed illegal drug use that should have denied him a US visa.

In his memoir, Spare, he detailed how he took cocaine several times as a teenager and experimented with cannabis and mushrooms.

Heritage cited his own admissions in its filing against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as it sought to have Harry’s visa records released.

    “Megxit”

It has suggested that Trump’s predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden, had given Harry preferential treatment when he relocated to California after “Megxit” – when he and Meghan bowed out of royal duties altogether.

The think tank previously tried to seek the disclosure of Harry’s visa papers via US Customs and Border protection, which said it needed the Duke of Sussex’s permission to release them.

It appears to be a change of heart for Trump, who had previously suggested last March that he could deport the Duke.

He had told GB News: “We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

The US Department of State says that convictions for drug offences can make visa applicants ineligible.

Heritage had sought to obtain the information from the DHS via freedom of information requests before bringing its case to court. Harry is not a party in the lawsuit.

Last year, Dailymail.com revealed that Harry could be on a rare diplomatic visa known as an A-1 Head of State visa.

That would have meant he was not vetted by US authorities for past use of drugs. If this is the case, the State Department under Trump could withdraw the status.

    “Not a fan”

The President has previously said he is “not a fan” of Meghan – while she has labelled him “divisive” and “misogynistic”. Trump labelled her “nasty” in return in 2019 – before labelling her a “very good American Princess”.

He has also previously described the Duke as being “whipped” by the former Suits star.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo Extends Al-Nassr Contract Until 2026

Hints at retiring in two to three years, likely finishing his career at Al-Nassr.

    KEY POINTS

    • Cristiano Ronaldo scored 82 goals in 90 matches
    • New deal is worth €183 million per year
    • Makes him the highest-paid footballer at the age of 40

ISLAMABAD: Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to extend his contract with Saudi club Al-Nassr for another year to remain associated with the club until June 2026.

An official confirmed that both parties have reached an agreement on the contract extension, although the paperwork is yet to be finalised. An announcement is expected in the coming days. Just last week, Ronaldo celebrated his 40th birthday, with his current contract initially set to expire in June 2025.

The former star of Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus made his move to Al Nassr in January 2023, where he made quite an impact, netting 82 goals in 90 appearances.

Back in August, Ronaldo expressed his intention to remain with Al-Nassr until the curtains fall on his professional career, which he anticipates could happen “soon or in two or three years.” He emphasised, “But it’ll most likely happen with Al-Nassr, the team that brings me joy… and where I feel at home.”

When he switched to Riyadh’s Al-Nassr two years ago, some viewed it as a transition from a glorious career to a lucrative but less visible chapter, with a reported deal worth $250 million. However, his presence has sparked a wave of other veteran stars joining the financially ambitious Saudi Pro League.

The kingdom’s ambitious sports and cultural vision took a monumental leap when it was awarded the 2034 World Cup in December, marking a significant step in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to reshape its global image through sports.

In August, Ronaldo launched his YouTube channel, and it quickly garnered a staggering one million subscribers in just 90 minutes, ballooning to 20 million within a day. He now boasts an impressive 73.5 million followers.

    Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Saudi, Football

Leo Messi of Paris Saint-Germain and Cristiano Ronaldo of Ruyadh XI fight for possession during the friendly match between Paris Saint-Germain and Riyadh XI at King Fahd International Stadium on January 19, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Though World Cup glory has eluded him—unlike his Argentine counterpart Lionel Messi—Ronaldo still has numerous records within his reach as he approaches the milestone of 1,000 professional goals in official matches. However, despite his remarkable scoring prowess, he has yet to claim a Saudi or continental title with Al-Nassr, with the Arab Club Champions Cup of 2023 being his sole accolade with the team.

    About the contract

Ronaldo is set to pocket an astounding €183 million each year, which breaks down to a staggering €15.25 million monthly or around €550,000 daily, solidifying his status as the highest-paid footballer on the planet at 40 years old.

In terms of PKR, this lucrative new contract translates to an eye-popping 53.07 billion annually, which equates to 159.5 million every single day. But the financial numbers are just part of the story; Al-Nassr has sweetened the deal by offering the iconic forward a 5 per cent ownership stake, a gesture that underscores their faith in his leadership and dedication to the club.

This exciting turn of events follows reports that Ronaldo had stipulated conditions for renewing his contract with Al-Nassr, insisting the club bolster its roster to challenge the league’s elite, including powerhouses like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad.

  • Prince George’s Reaction to Charlotte’s Major Request Caught on Camera

Prince George’s reaction to Princess Charlotte wanting to trade seats at a royal event has gone viral on TikTok.

The future king was quite happily watching Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee pageant when his younger sister asked to swap places on June 5, 2022.

George got up to allow Charlotte to sit next to their father, Prince William, only for her to later change back again.

A clip of the moment went viral on TikTok and prompted one fan to reply: “George is like ‘okay make up your mind dude.’😭”

    Why It Matters

The video was liked 37k times and viewed 371k times after being posted with the message: “This is so funny.”

    What to Know

The footage appears to show Charlotte asking George to switch seats, prompting a somewhat unimpressed response from her older brother.

Prince William then appears to ensure Charlotte gets her request, only for the young princess, seven at the time, to then change her mind.

The royals were then celebrating 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, not knowing that just a few months later the crown would pass to King Charles III.

The Platinum Jubilee was Elizabeth’s last big celebration with her people and was also a moment when George and Charlotte’s younger brother, Prince Louis, won many hearts.

One of his most iconic images—in which he covered his ears as R.A.F. jets flew overhead was taken days earlier, on June 2, 2022.

    What People Are Saying

One fan replied: “I think prince George is annoyed 😂,” while another wrote: “Its just a part of being a little sister, speaking of experiences🙈.”

A third said: “hahaha, Charlotte jumps so funny,” in references to her excited body language after the swap. A fourth said: “He really love his sister.”

    What Happens Next

George and Charlotte are both still young and therefore are in the public eye only occasionally, with their next appearance likely to be Easter.

Fans can look forward to many years of watching the Wales children grow up and blossom into working royals, assuming William and Kate choose that path for Charlotte and Louis.

  • Travis Kelce’s reaction to Taylor Swift being booed at Super Bowl 2025 revealed

Travis Kelce reportedly felt “helpless” after his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was pelted with boos during the Super Bowl 2025 match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

On Sunday, the 14-time Grammy winner, 35, appeared on the Jumbotron inside Caesars Superdome but was quickly met with loud boos from die-hard Birds fans.

The frosty reception to her presence appeared to take her by surprise with a simple three-word response. And it seems as though the 3-time Super Bowl champ, 35, also had a hard time digesting the harsh reaction to his girlfriend’s attendance following the Chiefs’ disappointing loss.

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”

The insider claimed that many Eagles fans feel that the “Fortnight” singer is “a traitor of sorts” — given that she’s from Pennsylvania and a former Birds fan.

Travis Kelce felt “helpless” after Taylor Swift was pelted with boos during the Super Bowl.

On Sunday, the 14-time Grammy winner, 35, appeared on the Jumbotron inside Caesars Superdome but was quickly met with loud boos from die-hard Birds fans.

“Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there,” the source went on.

“After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”

The Post has reached out to Kelce’s reps for comment. The boos were later echoed by President Trump, who took to social media to to troll the singer after his brief appearance at the match-up.

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” a source said of Kelce.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump wrote on Truth Social alongside a video of the moment.

The president’s jibe stung a little more given that Kelce previously said it was a “great honor” that Trump was planning to attend the game.

While Trump was spotted in the stands at the beginning of the game, he didn’t stick around for long.

The POTUS, 78, who previously predicted that the Chiefs would win, cut his losses and hit the road by halftime.

The frosty reception to her presence appeared to take the singer by surprise.

Still, Swift did receive some supportive words from retired tennis legend Serena Williams, who took to social media to share a loving message to the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker after the now-viral moment.

  • Meghan Markle’s ‘Brazen Hussy’ Critic Sparks Fury: ‘Call the Police’

Meghan Markle fans reacted with fury after a royal biographer who famously called her a “brazen hussy” attended the Invictus Games, with one account posting: “Somebody call the police.”

Prince Harry and Meghan have been at perhaps their biggest public event of the year in Vancouver, Canada, where they have been watching competitors in the duke’s Olympics-style tournament for wounded veterans.

The couple’s Sussex Squad online supporters spotted author Tom Bower in the audience, with one fan accosting the author.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the Whistler Welcoming Ceremony during day two of the 2025 Invictus Games, in Canada, on February 10, 2025. Samir Hussein/WireImage

    Why It Matters

The Sussex Squad has a long standing hatred of Bower and belief that he was a danger to the duchess after he previously said during an interview with Good Morning Britain: “It’s Meghan I’m after.”

They no doubt felt Bower was taking a media campaign against her into the real world and at least one suggested calling the police. Royalist social media accounts also jumped in to defend Bower, accusing the Sussex Squad of bullying him.

The incident reflects the potential risks that can exist when social media culture suddenly finds expression in the real world.

    What to Know

Footage posted on YouTube and recirculated on Twitter shows one fan approach Bower and ask: “Why are you at Invictus?” to which he replied: “Oh, well, I’m just here just having a look.”

“Sure, really?” the woman said. “That’s why you came to see? Or is it because you know Harry and Meghan were going to be here today?”

“I think that’s true too,” Bower said.

“Yeah, we’ve read the things you’ve wrote about them, especially Meghan,” the woman continued. “We’ve heard about your book. So it’s very interesting that you’re at Invictus because we know why you’re here.

“So why don’t you tell the truth about why you’re here? You came all the way from the U.K. and the U.K. press to Invictus in Canada just because you want to see it? Nah, I don’t think so.”

Another voice can be heard off-camera saying: “You’re up to no good, that’s [why] you’re here.”

    What People Are Saying

The original footage was posted to YouTube with the message: “UK Cesspool Rat Tom Bowers at Invictus.”

It was recirculated on Twitter with the message: “This disgusting pig is at the Invictus games. Somebody call the police. I love the sussex squad protecting harry and meghan from SCUM.”

A pro-royal account posted: “Tom Bower is now actively being hunted by Harry and Meghan’s fanbase at the Invictus Games. If he is harassed I hope all the people doing it are thrown out.

“A bunch of grown women behaving like hyenas. Utterly disgraceful behaviour towards a man minding his own business.”

    Tom Bower and Meghan Markle

In October 2022, Bower was discussing Prince Harry’s book Spare, which had not yet been released, when he said: “He’ll keep his princely title, it’s Meghan I’m after. His book is really Meghan’s. Meghan is the person who has dictated this agenda.”

And a few months earlier, during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, he said: “To see her smiling through the open window of a car, making sure she’s seen without any contrition whatsoever just shows what a brazen hussy she is.”

The swipe became famous among Harry and Meghan’s online supporters, with many choosing to adopt “Brazen Hussy” as their social media names.

    What Happens Next

No doubt Harry and Meghan will look to continue enjoying the Invictus Games without becoming involved in any of the argument over Bower.

  • Eric Adams Gets Lifeline from Donald Trump’s DOJ

A senior official at the U.S. Department of Justice has directed federal prosecutors to dismiss charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat known for his close ties to President Donald Trump.

In a two-page memo obtained by The Associated Press, acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, a former prosecutor in the Manhattan office that brought the case, stated that the decision to drop the charges was made without evaluating the strength of the prosecution and was not intended to undermine the attorneys who filed the case. However, Bove noted that the timing of the charges and “more recent actions” by former U.S. Attorney Damian Williams had compromised the integrity of the proceedings. He cited concerns over increased prejudicial pretrial publicity, which he warned could influence potential witnesses and the jury pool.

Mayor of New York City Eric Adams arrives prior to the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump at the United States Capitol on January 20, 2025, in Washington, DC.

    Why It Matters

The move follows months of speculation that Trump’s Justice Department might intervene to end the criminal case against Adams. The criminal case against Adams centers on allegations that he accepted illegal campaign contributions and extravagant travel perks exceeding $100,000. These included luxury hotel stays, costly flight upgrades, and even a visit to a Turkish bathhouse while he was serving as Brooklyn Borough President.

He has denied doing anything illegal and said the criticism of his overseas trips and deeply discounted first-class travel was unfair.

    What To Know

Adams traveled to Florida to meet with Trump on January 17. Following the meeting, he stated that they did not discuss his criminal case or the possibility of a pardon but suggested that Trump’s policies would be more beneficial for New York than those of former President Joe Biden.

Following Trump’s inauguration, Adams’ legal team approached senior Justice Department officials, requesting that they step in and drop the case.

Trump had previously suggested the possibility of a pardon, telling reporters in December that Adams had been “treated pretty unfairly.” He also claimed—without evidence—that Adams was being targeted for his criticism of former President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.

The federal prosecutor who filed the charges, former U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, resigned following Trump’s election victory. However, as recently as Jan. 6, prosecutors signaled that their investigation was still ongoing, stating in court filings that they continued to “uncover additional criminal conduct by Adams.”

In December, Adams’ chief adviser and closest confidant, Ingrid Lewis-Martin, was indicted by the Manhattan district attorney on charges that she and her son accepted $100,000 in bribes linked to real estate construction projects.

    What People Are Saying

Adams said the day after the meeting with Trump: “I’m looking forward to the next four years of having a president that loves the city like I love this city.”

Trump said in October at a Manhattan event attended by Adams: “I know what it’s like to be persecuted by the DOJ, for speaking out against open borders. We were persecuted, Eric. I was persecuted, and so are you, Eric.”

    What Happens Next

The Justice Department’s order mandates that the case be dismissed without prejudice, leaving open the possibility of it being refiled in the future.

The memo marks a significant break from longstanding Justice Department norms—both in its directive to drop a case that prosecutors had already determined to be legally sound and in its reasoning that a high-profile defendant’s official duties could take precedence over facing accountability for alleged crimes.

  • Kendrick Lamar Scores Big Win After Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has continued to see success following his Super Bowl LIX halftime show performance.

On Sunday, as the Kansas City Chiefs went up against the Philadelphia Eagles, Lamar took the stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans alongside guests SZA, Mustard, Serena Williams and Samuel L. Jackson. His set list included many songs from the album GNX, which dropped in November, such as “Squabble Up,” “Luther,” “TV Off” and “Peekaboo.” He also sang older hits, including “HUMBLE.” and “DNA.”

During the 13-minute mashup, fans were treated to “Not Like Us,” Lamar’s Drake diss track and Grammy-winning hit.

Following the event, Lamar topped charts on Apple Music and Spotify.

Pop Crave, a pop culture account on X, formerly Twitter, wrote, “Kendrick Lamar currently has the #1 album (‘GNX’) and #1 song (‘Not Like Us’) on US Apple Music following the #SuperBowl.”

In a separate message posted hours later, it added, “Kendrick Lamar occupies the top 3 on US Spotify: #1: luther — 2.056M #2: tv off — 1.868M #3: Not Like Us — 1.785M.”

The X account for chartdata.org, a website that tracks updates in music charts, wrote, “Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ has returned to #1 on US Apple Music following #SuperBowl halftime.” It added in another message, “Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ re-enters this week’s Billboard 200.”

The NFL’s Instagram account uploaded a slew of clips as the halftime show aired, including one of Lamar rapping “Squabble Up.” At the time of publication, the video had racked up more than 2 million views and more than 142,000 likes. In the video’s comments section, the account for Apple Music posted a raising hands emoji.

Lamar’s X account also received a boost following the halftime show. According to the analytics website Social Blade, the rapper gained 17,504 followers on the platform on Sunday. On Monday morning, another 18,091 people had clicked the “Follow” button.

By contrast, Lamar gained 1,587 followers on Saturday, lost 24 followers on Friday and gained 150 followers on Thursday.

Sunday wasn’t the first time Lamar performed at the Super Bowl. In 2022, the Compton, California, native shared the halftime stage with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and more.

Lamar and SZA—whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe—are scheduled to kick off the Grand National Tour in April, visiting 19 stadiums across North America.

Prior to the Super Bowl, SZA had refrained from giving away too many details about the halftime show, telling the Daily News on February 2, “That’s King Kendrick’s performance and that it is all for him to divulge.”

“What I can say is he’s worked really hard on it,” she continued. “And I’m so honored to be a part of it, and I’m so honored to even know him and exist in the same time as someone as brilliant as him.”

  • US Government Employees Encouraged to Report Trump Admin’s ‘Abuse of Power’

Government employees and civil servants have been encouraged by Democratic senators to act as whistleblowers against the Trump administration.

A Democratic Caucus letter sent by Senators Chuck Schumer and Gary Peters asks public servants to report “wrongdoing, abuse of power, and threats to public safety,” according to The Washington Post, which obtained a copy of the letter. The Democratic Caucus has also created an online whistleblowing form for employees to report government “Retaliation, Wasteful Spending, Fraud, Criminal Activity, and/or Other.”Newsweek has reached out to Peters and Schumer via email for comment.

    Chuck Schumer

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer holds hands with Representative Maxine Waters in a gathering of congressional Democrats outside the Treasury Department on February 4.

    Why It Matters

The Democrats, who were left without majority control of the House and Senate after November’s elections, have been criticized by some progressives for not doing enough to stop President Donald Trump and his billionaire ally Elon Musk from gutting federal agencies.

Given their lack of power in the legislative and executive branches, the Democrats and several nonprofits have brought dozens of lawsuits against the Trump administration. These suits concern the president’s moves to end birthright citizenship, allow Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to Treasury data, fire FBI employees and more.

Now, government employees are being asked to point out illegal activity that they witness. The Schumer and Peters letter comes as GOP Senator Chuck Grassley has asked government workers to become whistleblowers on “wrongdoing within federal agencies or misuse of public dollars.”

    What To Know

Schumer and Peters have told federal employees, they are covered by the Whistleblower Protection Act, which is intended to ensure that federal employees are not subject to retaliation if they provide evidence of possible wrongdoing within the government.

The two senators said they will also be investigating the president’s administration through inquiries, oversight requests and hearings, the Post reported.

Democrats have expressed concern about Trump’s recent move to cut 2,200 workers from the United States Agency for International Development. Schumer said on X (formerly Twitter): “Trump and DOGE’s actions at USAID are illegal and dangerous for the country.”

The president has said he wants to cut the federal workforce by 10 percent as part of his efforts to minimize the federal budget.Don Moynihan, a professor at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, told NPR that the budget for the 2.4 million federal employees is about $350 billion out of an overall $6.5 trillion budget.

“Their salaries are “a tiny sliver of total government spending—just around 5 percent to 6 percent,” Josh Bivens, chief economist at the Economic Policy Institute, told NPR.

A Reddit page for federal employees, r/govfire, has been flooded with concerns raised by these workers, with fears about a government shutdown, whistleblowing on illegal behavior and the future of their jobs.

Some federal employees spoke to The New York Times about their experiences since the start of the Trump administration. One said she had 24 hours to fill a prescription before being cut off from her health insurance. Another said she is experiencing stages of grief over the sudden loss of her job, which is working on HIV/AIDS treatment in sub-Saharan Africa.

    What People Are Saying

The Senate Democratic Caucus letter, obtained by The Washington Post, reads: “As Senate Republicans refuse to fulfill their constitutional duty to provide a check on the Executive Branch, Senate Democrats remain steadfast in our commitment to uncovering the truth. We are prepared to issue demand letters, preserve public records, conduct public hearings, and pursue legal action where necessary.”

Senator Chuck Schumer wrote on X: “To our brave public servants: Your courage in stepping forward as whistleblowers to expose corruption and misconduct is essential to preserving the integrity of our democratic institutions.”

A government employee said on Reddit’s r/govfire: “If I refuse to comply with some blatantly illegal/unethical order in the coming months or years and am fired, is my pension at risk? Or is that supposedly safe even in cases of ‘conduct issues’? (I know this administration doesn’t care about laws, so who knows what they’ll do, but is there any precedent for punitively reducing someone’s pension?)”

    What Happens Next

Vice President JD Vance has said he does not believe the judicial branch should have power over executive branch decisions, a view that raises the potential prospect of a constitutional crisis over reporting what is seen as illegal activity by the president.
