When both Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva were undergraduates at California State University, Fullerton, they got acquainted for the first time. In a 1989 interview, Costner remarked, “She was beautiful, she was sweet, and she was smarter than me.”
“She embodied everything I like about women,” I said. In 1978, Costner and Cindy exchanged vows. The newlyweds enjoyed their time together for a while, and they even had three children together, Annie, Lily, and Joe. Sadly, this phase of their relationship wouldn’t last for very long.
They Called It Quits
Soon after Silva and Costner collaborated on the critically acclaimed film Dances With Wolves, rumors of Costner’s infidelity started to circulate. The couple did their best to maintain their union, but ultimately they made the decision to divorce.
After 16 years of marriage, Cindy and Kevin declared their divorce in a statement that read, “We are ending our marriage. All disagreements involving our children and financial matters have been amicably resolved, and a complete marital settlement has been reached.
